The wine is an intense ruby red coloured and complex, expressing flavours of berry fruit, ground pepper spice and peachy fruit. The palate is alive with berry fruit and the peppery, spicy and toasted oak.

Pair with pizzas, pastas, game or any red meat. Serve at room temperature (18°C).

Rietvallei Esteanna Red Blend

Rietvallei Estéanna is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. It is a full-bodied, complex wine with excellent fruit and wood integration. Lots of work in the vineyard and minimal interference in the cellar allows this wine to express its terroir to the fullest. Deep, ruby red in colour. Expressive cherry and cassis aromas on the nose with delicate hints of violets. On the palate, the cherry flavours persist with just a hint of vanilla and cedar and a good lift of acidity. The tannins are sumptuous making this is a well-rounded wine which is showing beautifully in its youth but which has the structure and fruit to mature for a good 10+ years.

This wine will pair beautifully with rare roast beef or lamb and with more complex dishes of feathered game.

Awards : 2024 National Wine Challenge: Double Gold

Intense, vivid translucent youthful purple-ruby appearance. The wine shows pronounced lifted perfume on the nose with red berry fruit, musk, wild mushrooms and hints of savoury richness and spice and a clean vibrant minerality. On the palate there are very fruit flavours on entry with red cherry and musk flavours coupled with fresh acidity. The wine has layered complexity with great elegance and finesse. Very fine lacy, almost powdery tannin on the finish.

Ideally served at 16°-18°C.

Pair with rare roast beef, leg of lamb or any other red meats and pastas.

Alcohol : 13.3% vol

Rietvallei JMB Cabernet Franc is a 100% cultivar wine. It is a full-bodied, complex wine with excellent fruit and wood integration. Lots of work in the vineyard and minimal interference in the cellar allows this wine to express its terroir to the fullest. Deep ruby red, almost black in colour. Expressive aromas of blackcurrent, plums, pencil shavings and spicy tasted oak on the nose. On the palate, the black current and plum flavours persist, backed and well complimented by the toasty oak flavours from the 26-month new oak aging. The tannins are sumptuous making this is a well-rounded wine which is showing beautifully now in its youth but which has the structure and fruit to mature for a good 10+ years.

This wine will pair beautifully with rare roast beef or lamb and with more complex dishes of feathered game.
