Calcrete Chardonnay is only found in the limestone rich appellation between Bonnievale and Robertson. Terroir of arid, broken shale rock of ancient petrified maritime deposits. Calcrete Chardonnay defines this region with its crystalline minerality, a taste of wet stone and almost maritime sea spray, saline palate and oyster shell minerality.

Described as elegant, linear and minimalist. Bright, vibrant and limey. Luminescent light lime-green radiance. Located in the Bottelary Hills, the Steenkamp family-owned Friesland Wine Estate is renowned for producing exceptional Stellenbosch wines that consistently over-deliver on quality and value.

A beautifully balanced Stellenbosch red blend reveals enticing aromas of ripe plum, blackcurrant, coffee and dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with the Merlot contributing plush fruit and supple tannins, while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, freshness and a long, elegant finish.

The wine is sourced from single-vineyard dryland bush vines in the Swartland. Golden hued and full-bodied with hints of banana, dried apricot and honey on the nose. The grapes are picked at optimum ripeness and then it is fermented in stainless steel tanks. A full wine with a good mouthfeel.

This versatile Chenin Blanc pairs beautifully with creamy seafood, roast chicken, pork with apple sauce, grilled prawns, Cape Malay curries, mushroom risotto and mature cheeses.

Plaisir Estate Red 2023

A classic Bordeaux-style blend comprising Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Pinot Noir.

An inviting bouquet of jammy blueberries, ripe plums and stewed dark berries is complemented by a refreshing hint of mint. The palate is medium-bodied and velvety, revealing layers of black cherry, cassis and blackberry, with subtle notes of spice, vanilla, cigar box and white chocolate from oak maturation. Fine, well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity provide excellent balance, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.

Serve at 16-18 Deg.

Pair with mushroom and truffle risotto, smoked brisket or BBQ ribs.

Sadie Kokerboom 2025

The wine is left in cask for the entire first 12 months on the fermentation lees
and we bottle from the lees. We add about 60ppm of sulphur 2 – 3 weeks prior to bottling
to ensure it is evenly distributed throughout the tank. We cannot mix it in for everything is
still on the gross lees.
NOTES | The Kokerboom vineyard consists of around 80% white Green Grape and 20%
red Green Grape. We pick them together and press them simultaneously. The wine is one of
the richest wines we produce with pure volume and massive texture. The Semillon ripens
very well in this area due to the high solar radiation and the grapes enter the cellar between
13.5 – 14% alcohol.
The 2025 Kokerboom displays the waxy, lanolin-like characteristics generally associated
with Semillon, with an underlying sliver of gunflint reduction that quickly dissipates,
followed by the customary Granny Smith apple and limey aromas. The acidity in this
vineyard in 2025, combined with firm tannins, makes for a mouthfeel that is compact and
textured, and in need of some time; it is a full wine.

Inspired by the resilient gecko, IL GECO (Italian: “the gecko”) reflects a love for nature and a shared resilience with the grapevine.

This handcrafted Sangiovese from the Cape Winelands region expresses its terroir with bright purity and vibrant finesse. Freshly picked tart cherries, strawberries, raspberries, and red plum are well complimented by a savoury Parma like salinity and roasted cherry tomatoes. A bright and vibrant wine with soft textured, powdery tannins.

Serve at 12-15 Deg.

Sangiovese’s bright acidity and savoury character make it exceptionally versatile – pair with Karoo lamb ribs finished with rosemary and a balsamic reduction, or mushroom arancini with a touch of biltong for a uniquely South African twist.

McGregor Chenin Blanc 2025

Freshness and youth are reflected in the greenish tint of the wine. It shows lively and prominent guava and pineapple with some green apple and pear flavours with a hint of peach. The flavour on the palate is well balanced with the aroma and is crisp, clean and lingering on the aftertaste.

Serve at 9-12 Deg.

Pair with smoked chicken salad with pear and walnuts or peri-peri grilled prawns with pineapple salsa.

Best enjoyed within 2–3 years of vintage.
