Still very youthful. Drinking beautifully now with its juicy fruit and softness, but it can also benefit from a little short-term ageing.

The palate is plush yet refined, with velvety tannins balanced by a vibrant freshness that carries through to a savoury, lingering finish. Elegant rather than overpowering, this is a Merlot with both charm and quiet sophistication.

Drinking beautifully now, but will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 6-9 years.

Pair with venison bobotie or a wood-fired aubergine dish with tahini and pomegranate.

Through rigorous fruit selection and meticulous attention to the winemaking, the V Series delivers bright, clean, fruit-driven wines, numbered to reflect the order in which they should be tasted.

Merlot grapes are hand-picked from a vineyard block situated next to a Eucalyptus forest, which adds a natural herbaceous flavour profile. The V2 is Matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, which allows the cassis and blackcurrant notes to shine while creating complexity with notes of vanilla and nutmeg.

An elegant, polished wine exhibiting soft, silky tannins that will continue to age gracefully.

Serve at 12-15 Deg.

This wine is the perfect match for game, such as Kudu, roasted and stewed red meats and aged cheeses.

Our Merlot is a quintessential cool-climate expression of the cultivar: elegant with soft dark fruit and characteristic notes of plum, liquorice, and mulberry with a lively edge. The nose offers cedarwood and lavender, while the broody and deep palate reveals raspberry preserve, umami and spicy clove. The velvety texture is enhanced by a refreshing acidity, while well-integrated, fine tannins add structure and a dry finish luring you back to the glass. This medium to full-bodied wine will stand up to rich dishes with strong Mediterranean flavours, such as braised and roast meats, tomato-based stews, mature cheese, and briny olives. Will bottle age well for five to seven years after bottling.
