Platter * * * * – Barrel-aged 2013 (4 stars) unctuously smooth & rich, with subtle fig & barley sugar flavours. Shade off acid & fruit intensity of 2012, still decadently delicious dessert, on its own or with cheeses.
A prominent and complex nose of dried pineapple and mango, with roasted and sweet spices is supported by a fascinating and refreshing palate of apricot pips and honey. The wine is in great harmony and concludes with a tangy mouth-filling sweetness.
Ideally served chilled at around 6-8˚C and can be served as an aperitif. It pairs well with foie gras, fruit-based desserts, cheese or as an ice-cream topping.
