Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend.

Pale salmon-pink in colour with a fine, persistent mousse, it reveals delicate aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries and red cherries, layered with rose petals, citrus zest and freshly baked brioche. Two years of lees ageing lend a beautifully creamy texture, with subtle nuances of toasted almonds adding depth and complexity. The palate is vibrant and refreshing, driven by crisp acidity and refined minerality, before finishing long, dry and elegantly balanced.

Serve well chilled.

A beautifully versatile sparkling wine, ideal as an aperitif or served with smoked salmon, tuna carpaccio, sushi and fresh shellfish. The Matriarch honours the matriarchs that played such a pivotal role in establishing and building Nitida to the destination it is today. Made in the classic Méthod Champenoise style, from 39% Chardonnay and 61% Pinot Noir. These grapes were sourced from other farms in Durbanville. The Chardonnay lends elegance and finesse to the blend, while the Pinot Noir contributes strawberry flavours.

An explosion of flavour and 2022 excitement, bursting with fresh, crisp green apples that slowly melt as the full, silky-smooth mousse lingers, leaving you with a delectable undertone of creamy brioche.

This bubbly craves to be paired with salmon, and dill rissoto.

Waterkloof Astraeus Chardonnay Reserve Brut MCC NV

The grapes for Astraeus were sourced from an organically farmed vineyard in Elgin which is one of the few areas in the Western Cape where Chardonnay enjoys sufficiently cool conditions to produce good acids for a sparkling wine.

The nose of this MCC Chardonnay is pleasant and inviting with biscuit notes and some ripe stone fruits. Complexity on the palate with green apple and biscuit. Fine acids give the wine a good structure.

It can be enjoyed on its own or with some classic red fruit desserts.

Serve well chilled at 7-9 Deg.
