16 Mile Beach in Yzerfontein is South Africa’s longest uninterrupted beach, an unspoilt stretch of West Coast coastline and home to Blake Family Wines.
The name derives from the Rooipan that lies behind the dunes of the 16 Mile Beach. The soil contains red salt march – flora. Hence the name Rooipan. This delightful Rose made from Pinotage, has orange and lemon zest on the nose and a lingering after taste.
The Rose is best enjoyed chilled.
This is a wine to be enjoyed in the summer with a light chicken dish or salad.
Best enjoyed young and within the next 1-2 years.
