Description

Lycaon comes from the scientific name for an African wild dog, Lycaon Pictus, and is derived from the Greek word Lycos for a wolf. The label illustration is from a page in an 18th century book on hunting in Southern Africa, a time when painted wolves were common throughout the region.

A beautiful, elegant and rich wine, with aromas and flavours of citrus, and ripe peaches. On the palate crisp acidity is balanced by a creamy and slightly waxy texture, with layers of fruit, and straw providing depth and intensity. The wine has a long, soft and rewarding finish.

Serve at 11-13 Deg.

Pair with pork belly, roast pork, dishes with apple or spice elements.

This wine will develop in bottles over the coming 5 years, gaining complexity as it develops.
