Description
White flowers, golden apple, ripe pear, and a splash of citrus peel jump out of the glass. The palate is smooth and layered but stays tight and focused. A hit of savory depth carries it long.
Serve at 9-12 Deg.
Enjoy now through to 2029.
Pair with seafood with light, creamy sauces and fresh salads.
Additional Info:
Banele is the assistant winemaker at Savage Wines, working under Duncan Savage, whose minimalist, detail-driven approach in the cellar inspired him. He now crafts his own wines under the Tembela label, named in honor of his late mother and rooted in the isiXhosa words for faith, hope, and belief. Humble and passionate, Banele is a rising star in South African winemaking – his journey is just beginning.
Banele chose a simple watercolor label to honor his mother, Tembela—depicted with a basket on her head. After thoughtful collaboration with the artist, he added a second woman in the background to represent community and a sense of place.
