Description

True to the varietal grown in cooler climates, one is lured closer by aromas of cherry, marzipan and violets, a rich perfume and a savoury gloss with hints of white pepper spice and fynbos. Silky soft tannins add to the finesse with a youthful freshness to perch the bold blueberry fruit flavours. The fruit follows through beautifully with nuances of dark chocolate on the finish that lingers on the palate.

It’s seductive personality makes it a great choice for hearty South African stews; Lamb tagine, Rogan Josh curry and Moroccan Chicken Bastilla.

A reasonably priced Syrah that slides down easily. Delicious with venison, but will pair well with Pizza too. Me? I just quaffed it on its own with superb enjoyment and good company.

  2. Fritz (verified buyer)

What a surprise an excellent wine for this price. Really what I was ca looking for

  3. Johan (verified buyer)

    Excellent!

I am a Shiraz fan, almost 70% of the reds in my glass would be Shiraz.
While beauty is in the eye of the beholders, wine is at the pleasure of ones particular taste buds.
I have been drinking the Estate Syrah ’22 and the Lighthouse Syrah ’22 in equal measure since the two cases arrived.
The Estate version has a light plummy colour in the glass, rather than a richer red berry shade I thought it would have.
The smooth roundness of a Shiraz also seems missing. It might need some time to build a mature, richer body.
But, that being said, we are enjoying both of them!
