Description
In the 18th century, pioneers—including Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel—cultivated vineyards along the Bot River, calling the land First Hope. Today, this historic site is home to Eerste Hoop.
A vibrant, aromatic Viognier showing both freshness and elegant richness. On the nose, expect white peach, apricot, orange blossom and honeysuckle, lifted by subtle notes of pear, citrus zest, and a gentle floral perfume.
The palate is medium-bodied and silky, balancing Viognier’s natural opulence with refreshing acidity typical of Bot River. Flavours of stone fruit, nectarine, and a touch of spice lead into a clean, lingering finish with hints of wet stone and citrus peel.
Serve at 10-12 Deg.
Pair with crayfish rolls with herb mayo or chicken tagine with apricots and almonds.
Enjoy now and within the next 3-5 years.
