Description

Blend : Merlot 73% | Cabernet Franc 18% | Shiraz 9%

Named after the Route 62 highway that stretches from Cape Town to Jeffrey’s Bay, this wine is a blend of the finest hand picked grapes chosen from various vineyard blocks. The cultivars that make up this classic blend were matured separately using only the best barrels. A complex note gives away to underlying tones of raspberries, blackberries and red fruit, followed by a lingering herbal finish.

Enjoy this wine as aperitif with friends and family. Will compliment all types of meat dishes and tomato based pasta.

Best to decant before drinking.

Serve At : 16-18 Deg.

Additional Info:

Award-winning winemaker Meyer Joubert studied viticulture at Elsenburg in Stellenbosch and spent two harvests in California’s Napa Valley before returning to South Africa to pursue his dream of crafting premium wines. Born in the Tradouw Valley, Meyer moved to the farm in 1995 with his wife, Beate—also a Napa winemaker—who supported him in building their family and winery.

Meyer was the first to recognize the potential of the iconic Route 62, inspired by Route 66 in the U.S., and trademarked ‘R62’ as a wine—still the only one of its kind on this famous route.
