Description
The Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay 2023 from Elgin is a refined, cool-climate Chardonnay showing bright citrus and stone-fruit flavours such as lemon zest, nectarine and pear, layered with subtle floral, mineral and flinty notes, and well-integrated French oak that adds gentle spice, toast and a creamy texture. It is medium- to full-bodied with vibrant acidity, excellent balance and a long, elegant finish.
Serve it lightly chilled at around 8–12 °C,
The wine drinks beautifully now but has the structure to cellar for around 8–10 years
At the table, it pairs particularly well with grilled or roasted salmon, shellfish, roast chicken, smoked duck, creamy pasta dishes, mushroom-based meals, roasted vegetables and soft, creamy cheeses.
