Description

Rich and generous with wild character, this Rhone‑style blend (76% Shiraz/Syrah, 16% Grenache, 8% Mourvèdre) bursts with brooding black fruits, liquorice and mulberry, all laced with black and white pepper and floral Grenache notes. The palate follows with juicy red-fruit accents and chewy tannins.

Pair with red meats or game, making it a perfect braai accompaniment. Also stands up well to stews and strong cheeses.

Serve at 12-15 Deg.

Cellaring potential is 5 to 7 years.
Additional Info :
Newton Johnson Vineyards is a family-owned estate in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, about 90 minutes from Cape Town. Known for its stunning fynbos, mountain trails, and world-renowned whale watching, the area is a popular tourist destination.
Hand-picked grapes are chilled, destemmed, and cold-macerated for 5–7 days before fermenting with indigenous yeasts, including some whole-bunches. After 25 days on skins, the wine is pressed, completes malolactic fermentation and matures on fine lees with no fining or filtration. The wine was matured for 12 months in 500 L Burgundian barrels crafted from tight-grain oak—slow toasted at low temperature. Only 5% is new oak, ensuring subtle oak integration. After barrel aging, the wine spends another 6 months ageing in stainless steel.
