Description
Following in the footsteps of previous vintages that consistently earned acclaimed Platter ratings, this latest release is no exception. Deep garnet in colour, this wine reveals layered aromas of cured meats, Christmas spice, stewed black fruits, clove, black pepper, leather, and cigar box. The palate is plush and generous, showing ripe plum and wild berries with hints of cinnamon spice. Seamlessly integrated oak and fine tannins add depth and structure, leading to a dry, lingering finish of spice, tobacco dust, and stewed prunes.
Serve at 16-18 Deg.
Serve with slow-braised beef short ribs, grilled lamb cutlets with rosemary and garlic, venison with a berry reduction, smoked brisket or BBQ beef, aged hard cheeses, or dark chocolate mousse.
Drink now or cellar for 5-8 years from vintage.
